The Air Jordan III was designed by Tinker Hatfield. It was the first Cheap Jordan Shoes to provide a visible air unit in the heel, the new logo Jumpman, an elephant print trim, and the leather drum for a look of luxury. The Air Jordan III were also famous for the humorous ads that represent Spike Lee as Mars Blackmon, the character he played in his film "She's Gotta Have It." This campaign became known as "Mars and Mike" ad campaign, which even today holds the title as one of Nike's advertising campaigns more successful. These were the first to Jordan "Nike Air" logo on the back, but then was replaced with the Jumpman logo with the words "AIR" underneath it, similar to the Air Jordan VI. These were said to be favorite shoes of Michael Jordan, who led throughout the 1988 Dunk Championship (he won) and many other historical events in his career in basketball. The Air Jordan 3 also is one of the most famous shoes in the Air Jordan lineup. In many surveys, the Air Jordan 3 finishes as the greatest sneaker of all time.

Hatfield takes command-Air Jordan 3

Now Nike needed a new designer for the Air Jordan III. So they went to world-famous Tinker Hatfield. His name is known mainly for designing Air Jordan III-XV, and also make a statement on the AJ XXs, but Tinker also designed some really nice Nike too. Tinker and Michael worked hard, talked among themselves in what were good ideas, and what might "work." Air Jordan III HistoryMichael wanted a lightweight shoe with great durability. So with the Air Jordan 3 they both decided to make them a top half, the first principle to be mid-Air Jordan line. In the AJ III model placed Tinker famous Jumpman logo on the back of the shoe, and the addition of an impression of "elephant" in the toe box. IIIS also were the first AJ to have a visible Air-Sole unit.

The Air Jordan 3 was the first of 14 Air Jordans designed by Tinker Hatfield. The Air Jordan 3 also led to more than the name of Jordan on the shoe since the man himself was an active part of the design of the shoe. The shoe was a perfect example of Tinker's skill to blend fashion with function.

Air Jordan 3 Retro success

When the Air Jordan III was retro in 2001 was not a surprise sold very well. However, only three different colors and were released after huge pressure from fans AJ Jordan Brand found he could not escape the release of the Air Jordan 3 (III) Retro + - White / Cement Grey - Fire Red in a retro re-release.
